CA. Sudhir Kumar Agarwal, a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has
been elected as the Chairman, Northern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of India for the year 2008-09 w.e.f. 18th February. CA. Agarwal was elected to the Northern India Regional
Council for the first time in 2004 and thereafter in 2007. He has held the position of Vice – Chairman
(2004-05) and Secretary (2005-06 & 2006-07), NIRC of the ICAI. CA. Agarwal, prior to his election, was
the co-opted member of the Committee for Members in Industry of the Institute in the year 2000-2001, and

CA. Durga Das Agrawal, FCA, New Delhi, aged 50 year has been elected as the Member of the Northern
India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) for the year 2007-2010. He
is graduate in commerce and also a Law graduate from Agra University. Member of the ICAI with about 20
years of standing. Qualified CA in 1986. Also passed out DISA in 2004. He is Trustee and National Coordinator
of Bhartiya Charitra Nirman Sansthan (NGO), and Treasurer of Antarrashtriya Manav Kalyan

CA. Sukhen Pal Babuta, a Science Graduate, is a Fellow Member of the Institute ,qualified in the year
1987, and was elected to the Northern India Regional Council for the first time in the year 2004. Prior to his
election to the Northern India Regional Council, CA. Babuta was a member of the Managing Committee of
Chandigarh Branch and had held the office of the Secretary, Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the said
Branch. Apart from having acted as faculty in various programmes as also in the Course on GMCS,CA.Babuta
had also authored Direct Taxes Yearly Supreme Court case analysis with Statutes-2001, and Mercantile Law

CA. Atul Kumar Gupta, FCA has been elected as the Treasurer, Northern India Regional Council of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the year 2008-09 w.e.f. 18th February. Besides being a
Fellow member of the ICAI, he is a qualified Cost Accountant and also CIQA & PGDEMM. CA Gupta is an
active member of All India Management Association, Delhi Management Association, Institute of Internal
Auditors (Delhi) and Regional Advisory Committee of Central Board of Excise and Custom. He has also held
the position of Chairman, NIRC of the ICWAI (2005-06). He remained speaker on Service Tax on various

CA. Deen Dayal Agrawal, a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has been

(U.P.). A Fellow Member of the Institute, CA.Gupta qualified in the year 1987. He had represented as Vice-
Chairman, Northern India Chartered Accountants Students’ Association during the years 1982-1985. CA.
Gupta was elected to the Northern India Regional Council for the first time in the year 2004 and was elected
its Secretary in and for the first year itself, i.e.,2004- 2005, and was its Vice-Chairman during the years
