Dear Professional Colleagues,
"Leaders are born not made"
As I assumed the office of Chairman NIRC, I was feeling bit nervous and thinking the ways and means to shoulder the enormous responsibility as Chairman NIRC. As I moved forward, I have gained confidence and I am quite sure that NIRC can attain 'New Heights' during the year 2014-15. As on date, the various committees of NIRC have been formed and have started their functioning. The Research groups are in the process of finalization. I am sure by the end of this month the Research group will also start their functioning.
BRANCH ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
The Branches are the backbone of the Regional council. Keeping in mind the importance that the new elected leaders of the branches are to be oriented towards the Rules and Regulations of the Institute, Your NIRC organized two days “Branch Orientation Programme” at Heights-Timber Trail-Prawanoo (H.P.). Most of the Elected Members from Branches gathered there to attend the programme and share their views. We had the privilege to have among us the Leaders of the Profession i.e. the Hon'ble President, CA K. Raghu and Vice-President ICAI, CA Manoj Fadnis. The programme becomes more graceful by the gracious presence of Hon'ble Central Council Members (Northern Region)
It was an occasion when the Hon'ble President and Vice-President of ICAI highlighted the achievements of the Institute including the initiative taken by ICAI under their leadership for the betterment of the CA profession, members and students. They also guided the Branch Leaders and exhorted to work collectively to take the ICAI at new heights. The President and the Vice-President were very eager to listen to the problems faced by the branches and the possible solutions for the same. The President stressed on the need that whatever position office bearers are holding they should be proud of it and should work collectively for providing better services to members as well as to students.
The Central Council Members in their own way motivated the leaders of the professions present there and mentioned that all the branches have to work in cohesive way so that the profession can be taken to new scales.
CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS BENELOVENT FUND (CABF)
The Hon'ble President and Vice-President ICAI were very particular and were moved by the plight of the families of the deceased Chartered Accountants. They very forcefully stressed on the need that the corpus of CABF fund should be increased in many folds so that not even a single family who is applying for CABF should remain unattended. They also wanted to increase the one time as well as the monthly payment payable to family of the deceased Member.
I also appeal to my fellow brothers & sisters to contribute generously towards CABF fund. I assure to the members that whose contribution would be Rs 5,000/- or more, his/her name will be published in the newsletter of NIRC.
ACTIVITIES FOR MEMBERS OF NIRC OF ICAI
Team NIRC conducted the various seminars during the last one month for the upgradation of knowledge base of members. Seminar on Companies ACT 2013, Seminar on Bank Audit, Seminar on FDI & FEMA & Seminar on National Summit on “Indian Economy: Way Forward” were held. The seminars were well attended by large number of members. I am thankful to the members for making the seminars of NIRC a great success.
RESEARCH GROUP OF NIRC OF ICAI
As mentioned in my last Newsletter, we have received an overwhelming response from the members and they have showed great interest in joining the Research Groups of NIRC of ICAI. The Research groups give an opportunity to the Members to interact with the group wherein members of the expertise in particular field discuss the various issues among themselves. This helps them to find out the possible solutions to the problems faced by the members at large. Many times the research groups also hold seminar on the topic allotted to them which has been well appreciated by the members.
In order to help the students to test their knowledge base “Mock Tests” were held for all most a week both for IPCC & Final year students. The attendance at the Mock Test has shown that the students are very keen to take the Mock Test organized by NIRC of ICAI. This gives them an opportunity to know their weaknesses so that they can stress on the same and give better performance at the time of final exams.
APPEAL TO MEMBERS FOR GMCS-1
The guidelines of Board of Studies stipulate that the GMCS-1 should be done in the first year of training. It is my appeal to all the members to educate their articles about the same and give them necessary leaves so that they can comply with the mandatory requirements to enhance their knowledge and skills.
