Northern India Regional Council representing over 27000 Chartered Accountants spread across the States of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, NCT o Delhi and Union Territory of Chandigarh is a constitutent body of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a body established by an Act of Parliament (XXXVIII of 1949) to regulate the profession of Chartered Accountancy. The functions of the Regional Council inter-alia include holding of talks, refresher courses, workshops, seminars and conferences on topics of professional interest with a view of help the members keep themselves abreast of the development in the fast changing scenario.
The NIRC publishes a monthly News Letter for the benefits of its members, where in all information in related to the forth coming programmes, Study Circle Meetings, Law update, even highlights for the benefits of the students, it also includes writeup/articles on Corporate Laws, Sales Tax, Service Tax are published regularly.
The Northern Indian Regional Council has eighteen branches and more the sixty five study circles and reference libraries spread over the region.
